November 17th 2024 marks the 19th anniversary of the passing of Sgt Thomas “Tom” Thomas, 29,US Army. We honor and remember him, his mother Brenda Short Thomas and his father Maj. Thomas E. Thomas US Army.
Sgt Thomas Matthew “Tom Tom” Thomas, born July 9th1976 in Fort Hood Texas and died November 17th, 2005, while working in Iraq by a roadside bomb.
Born at Fort Hood, TX, he grew up in Germany and Chester, and was presently a resident of El Paso, TX.
Sgt Thomas served with the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment which qualified him for the difficult work that he was doing in Iraq. Since his discharge from the U. S. Army, he was working as a Security Specialist with Cochise Consultancy, a company which provides security to contractors working under government contracts in Iraq. He was on his second assignment in Iraq when he was killed by a roadside bomb. Sergeant Thomas was recently recalled to active duty by the U. S. Army and was scheduled to report for duty upon completion of his commitment to Cochise Consultancy.
He understood the danger involved with the work that he was doing but was willing to sacrifice his life if necessary because he knew that he would be with his Lord and Savior.
Tom Tom was laid to rest in Section 10 of Culpeper National Cemetery. Culpeper VA.
