On January 23 we honor and remember Sgt. Matthew D. Hunter US Army, 31, and his mother Kathy Kinney both of Valley Grove WV
He was born August 8, 1974.
Sgt Hunter joined the Army Reserves in January 1992 and became part of the regular Army in January 1996. Prior to serving in Iraq, he served two tours of duty in Korea.
He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Ky.; killed January 23, 2006, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his dismounted patrol during combat operations in Baghdad.

US ARMY - 28 years old
On July 29 we honor and remember SPC Michael E Lang, 28, US Army of Huntington WV and his mother Joan Dillon of Norfolk VA. He was born Jan 20th 1967.
SPC Michael Lang was a member of the 254th Transportation Company (Light Truck) of Huntington, WV and lost his life on July 29th, 1995 during a tragic accident while serving in the Army National Guard on a humanitarian mission to northern West Virginia.
He left behind a wife and son.
