Sgt Adrian Alan Simmons

July 6 marks the passing of Sgt Adrian Alan Simmons, 26, US Army, of Raeford, NC and formerly of Franklin WV. We honor and remember his family and his mother Deborah Simmons Propst also of Franklin WV. 

Sgt Simmons died Wednesday, July 6, 2011, in Raeford, NC. He was born December 11, 1984, in Harrisonburg, VA.

Sgt Simmons served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division Fort Bragg NC and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. On October 4, 2008, he married Nichole Dugan Simmons. 

Surviving Adrian is his son Liam, his daughter Lainey, his sister Katelyn Propst of Franklin, as well as his stepfather Daniel Propst of Franklin WV and his father Frank Sinclair formerly of Morgantown WV.  He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Emmalynn Grace Simmons. At the time of his death his wife Nichole was pregnant with daughter Lainey Simmons.

Sgt Simmons’ aunt, Ronda Sisson Simmons, said this on the 4th anniversary of his passing:

“Adrian Simmons and Joshua VanMeter were mine and Debbie Simmons Propst boys. PTSD is an ugly ugly disease. Love and miss you. Until we meet again soldier, I salute you always!”
